How to Change EarthLink Email Settings

EarthLink is an Internet provider that gives their customers POP email addresses. Change your EarthLink email settings in less than 15 minutes. EarthLink allows you to choose exactly what features you want to use and how often to use them.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Open your email program such as Outlook, EarthLink Mailbox or TotalAccess by double-clicking the appropriate icon on your desktop or by choosing the program from the "Start" menu.

  2. Step 2

    Log in to EarthLink email at My.earthlink.net. Choose "Change Settings." Scroll down the list to choose the settings you want to personalize.

  3. Step 3

    Download Email Update Wizard, provided by EarthLink. The Update Wizard works with Windows, Mac OSX and Mac Classic. The EarthLink website has links to the downloads for Mac and Windows.

  4. Step 4

    Close any email programs currently running on the computer. Open the Wizard once it has loaded onto the computer. Double-click the desktop icon to open it. Choose the "Next" button. The Wizard scans and displays your active EarthLink email addresses.

  5. Step 5

    Input your password into the "Password" field. EarthLink's passwords are case sensitive. Click on the "Next" button. Your email settings are automatically updated for the programs that you use. Click "Finish." Your email programs need to restart before the updates are applied.

Tips & Warnings
  • If your settings did not automatically reset with the Update Wizard, open your email program. Find the "Email Accounts" option. Choose "View Existing Accounts." Select the appropriate email address from the list. Click "Change." Modify the settings. Choose the "Next" button and then click "Finish."
