Are you looking for a unique birthday party idea? How about throwing your child a scrapbooking party? Here is a step-by-step guide on how to throw the party, plus the supplies you will need and some simple steps in how to accomplish the finished project.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Multicolored construction paper
  • Hole punch
  • Ribbon or colored string
  • Stickers
  • Crayons or magic markers
  • Buttons and plastic gemstones
  • Glitter pens
  • Acid-free tape
  • Polaroid camera or digital camera with access to a printer and photo paper
  1. Step 1

Decide on a guest list. Keeping the list to a minimum will cut down all supplies that are needed and the mess to be cleaned up later--but if you do not mind those things, the sky is the limit.

  2. Step 2

Write out scrapbook-themed invitations including a note telling the guests that they will be scrapbooking and should bring 3-5 photos of their choosing from home.

  3. Step 3

As the guests arrive, take photos of them alone and with the guest of honor.

  4. Step 4

Have the children sit at a table that you have prepared with all of the scrapbooking supplies they will need. Be sure to have them bring their photos to this table as well.

  5. Step 5

Give each child three sheets of construction paper.

  6. Step 6

Using the hole punch, punch three holes along one side of the three pieces of paper.

  7. Step 7

Tie three bows inside the holes using the ribbon or string.

  8. Step 8

Make a sample scrapbook, ahead of time, for the guests to see as an example. Use pictures of the guest of honor and have him or her decorate it.

  9. Step 9

Help the children decide on the order of how they want their pictures in the book and depending on their age help them adhere the pictures to the page.

  10. Step 10

Let the children decorate their books. It is best to let the children's creative juices flow, therefore let them do this on their own, praising them and oohing and ahhing over their work.

  11. Step 11

Share the completed books and then share the birthday cake.
