I have always liked the look of a scalloped casing on a little girl’s soft-sole shoe; it makes the whole shoe look more feminine. You can easily adapt your soft-sole shoe pattern to add a scallop along the base of your casing by following these simple directions!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Scissors
  • Printer
  • Hole Punch (optional)
  1. Step 1

Print out copy of pattern from http://www.makethemyourself.com/scallop.html. The same photo is supplied here, but the sizing is much better on the website. Find appropriate size and cut out pattern.

  2. Step 2

Punch holes as indicated if you would like to add them. For small shoes I recommend using a size 1/16th punch, for larger shoes a 1/8th.

  3. Step 3

On wrong side of leather trace scallop casing onto leather. Continue moving pattern over and tracing until you have reached the length you need to complete your pattern. Punch out holes.

  4. Step 4

Sew casing on as indicated in your pattern. You will sew the bottom seam just above the scallops. Now just set back and watch how much your little girl will love this extra touch!
