How to Make a Drainage Hole in a Ceramic Pot

Want to add a drainhole to your ceramic pot without breaking the pot?

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Painters tape
  • Drill and Bit the size of the hole you need
  1. Step 1

    Apply tape in an X to the inside and outside of your ceramic pot. Make ceratin that the centers of the X line up on both sides of the base.

  2. Step 2

    Carefully drill through the center of the tape X.

  3. Step 3

    Remove the tape. You now have a drainage hole in your ceramic pot!

on 10/8/2007 Thanks virbej Sounds like that just might work..but I hate the thought of buying that special drill just for one pot! Guess I'll have to go out and buy more pretty ceramic pots!
