Things You'll Need:
- I have done some research and found a few simple rules to follow.
-
Step 1
Be Ready – Before the interview, practice your answers; be prepared.
-
Step 2
Negative & Positive – Employers will see the negative aspect of your work history, but you can change it to a positive… updating your skills, seeking a more challenging role and so forth.
-
Step 3
Resume - Include in your objective the reason you are seeking employment. For example, to obtain a position where my skills can be utilize in a stable company. Perhaps in your prior job your skills where not utilize the way you expected or it was not challenging to your expectations.
-
Step 4
Soft Skills - Focus on the experience you gained by working with various companies. Highlight your ability to work with individuals in all sorts of levels. For example, clients, business owners, tenants, seniors.
-
Step 5
References - Of course, if you left in good terms, why not ask for a reference. Even though you were at your prior job for a short time request a reference. The prospective employer will see it as a positive.
-
Step 6
Stability – Explain that you belong to an organization or are involve in the community and you been part of it long term.
-
Step 7
Experience - Your focal point should be on how you acquire your skills from prior jobs and how it will benefit your prospective employer.
-
Step 8
Concrete - Employers would like to have a notion on why you have been moving around from job to job. Going back to the first rule BE READY and express your reasons.
