I Did This Rate: (3 Ratings)

Have you ever gone hiking? About 12,000 people in the US alone get lost when they go on a hiking trip. You may or may not know how to create a shelter for survival. This is a classic shelter that was made by the Vikings hundreds of years ago. This shelter could save your life!

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Rocks
  • Pine of Birch branchs
  • Moss or leaves
Step1
Take the rocks and stack them upon each other, make a curved shape. Make sure the rocks are at least 4 foot tall so that you can fit inside comfortably.
Step2
Lay your pine or birch branches on the top of your shelter. Make sure you can't see through the roof. If you can, add more branches to your shelter.
Step3
Add a good amount of moss/leaves on the top of your branches. Doing this will keep you dry, warm, and comfortable.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure to add plenty of moss/leaves to your shelter!
