The Windsor Knot is the one most commonly seen in professional situations. It's a thick, wide knot that fits well on spread collar shirts, and is among the easiest knots to tie. It isn't a good fit for narrow collar shirts, and it works best on ties made of thin material. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

      Stand in front of a mirror so you can see how the tie fits.

      The wide end should be about 12 inches below the thin end. Cross the wide end over the narrow end. There should be a loop between the collar and the tie.

      Bring the wide end up through the loop, then let it hang down again.

      Wrap" the wide end around the narrow end, and bring it back around to the front.

      Bring the wide end up through the loop again.

    • 6

      Bring the wide end down through the knot.

    • 7

      Use one hand to pull the narrow end down and the other to move the knot up until it's at the center of the collar.
