This is how to groom a horse where they are the cleanest.

Things You'll Need:

  • Human Hair Brush
  • Curry Comb
  • Stiff Brush
  • Mediem Brush
  • Soft Brush
  • Face Brush
  • Hoof Pick
  • Hair detangler
  1. Step 1

    First thing that you need to do is put your horse in Cross Ties or tie to post. So they can't go anywhere.

  2. Step 2

    Now you want to take the detangler and put in the mane and tail.

  3. Step 3

    Now take the curry comb and start at the top of the neck. Closest the top by the mane.

  4. Step 4

    The start brushing by moving the curry comb is a counter clockwise motion. Work down the side the neck. Ruffling up the hair as you go. Work your way down the whole side of the body starting at the top and working down.

  5. Step 5

    You want to the same thing the other side of the horse. Start at the top part of the neck and work your away down and to the back of the horse.

  6. Step 6

    Now take the stiff brush. You want to start on the same side you did with the curry comb. But this time you will want to start and the top and brush the neck in the direction the hair grows. Short firm stocks.

  7. Step 7

    You want to repeat the last step on the other side of the horse. Starting at the top the neck of the horse closest to the mane. Work down and the back of the horse.

  8. Step 8

    Now you want to take the human hair brush and brush out the mane and the tail. With the mane start at the highest point. Work back to the withers. You would brush it like you would brush your own hair. Start at the ends and work to the roots to remove all the tangles. Then you move to the tail and do it the same thing. Start that the end and work up to the base of the tail.

  9. Step 9

    How that you have mane and tail brush you pick up the medium brush. Now you want to start back and the top of the neck and brush the horse the same way that you did with the stiff brush. A downward motion and working your way to the backend of the horse.

  10. Step 10

    Now you want take the face brush. You want to brush the horse's face. Start at the top between the ears. Brush in a downward motion.

  11. Step 11

    Now take the soft brush. Brush the whole body. In a downward motion.

  12. Step 12

    Now take the hoof pick and start at the front left foot. You want to pick up the foot and remove any dirt of rocks from the shoe. Then move to front right hoof and then to back right hoof and then last but not least the back left.

  13. Step 13

    Now you are good to go. You horse is groomed and looking great.
