How to make Black Bean Soup

This delicious black bean soup is easy to make, low in fat, high in protein and tastes fabulous!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 can black beans (14 0z.)
  • 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 jalapeno, finely chopped (optional)
  • 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 chicken bouillon
  • 16 oz. water
  1. Step 1

    In a pot, heat oil on low and add onion and garlic until soft. About 10 minutes.

  2. Step 2

    Add chicken bouillon, cilantro, jalapeno and about 4 oz. of the water. Let simmer 5 minutes.

  3. Step 3

    Add black beans, including juice from the can, and the remaining water and bring to a boil.

  4. Step 4

    Reduce heat and let simmer for 5 minutes.

Tips & Warnings
  • Makes 2-4 servings.
  • Serve with homemade cornbread and enjoy!
