Who doesn't love an awesome Halloween party? This is for anyone who is interested in throwing one and wants it to be the best is could possibly be.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Creativity
  • Fun People (in costumes of course)
  • Awesome Music
  • Snacks, Desserts, and Candy
  • Decorations
  1. Step 1

First of all, you will need to put together a creative team. A small committee of friends helping to plan your party will make things much more easy and fun.

  2. Step 2

Put your team members in charge each aspect of your party. Someone should put together a list of invites, another should figure out what kind of food and drinks will be served, and someone else should make a playlist. You can have another in charge of the decorations, but it is fun for everyone to help out with this too. It's your call.

  3. Step 3

Your list of invites can range from a few people to a few pages It's a no brainer to only invite fun people who won't cause trouble. Send out invites at least a week before your party. The major thing is to make sure they all come in costume. You can set a theme, but i prefer to let people be whatever they want and have a nice mix of costumes. Once again, this will be your call.

  4. Step 4

You can have as much food as you want. It's best to have snacks and desserts and, traditionally, candy. Some fun foods that go with the Halloween theme are: Hot dogs sliced lengthwise a few times (they curl up like worms when cooked), jell-o molds shaped like brains and body parts, "bloody popcorn" colored with a little red food coloring mixed with the butter, dirt/graveyard cake(recipes are easy to find if you aren't familiar with it) and red-colored ice cubes or a frozen hand (put water in a latex glove, tie closed and freeze) in the punch bowl add a nice touch as well. Serve whatever drinks you want. Not a ton of food is required because most people would have eaten dinner by your night time fete.

  5. Step 5

Music is the easiest thing. Whatever is current and popular with your friends is the way to go. However, it is imperitive that you throw in some Halloween classics. Michael Jackson's "Thriller" is always a good choice. "Monster Mash" by Bobbie Boris Pickett, and "I Put a Spell on You" by Screamin' Jay Hawkins are great as well. Panic!at the disco has a great "This is Halloween" cover from the Nightmare Before Christmas movie. There is actually a special edition soundtrack with this song, along with some amazing covers from fall out boy, she wants revenge(my personal fav), fiona apple, and marylin manson(super creepy but awesome too). You can look up a ton of other Halloween-equse songs.

  6. Step 6

Decorating is the best part. You can be as subtle or crazy as you want. Some easy things to try: Cover walls with black sheeting (can be found and home improvement stores), drape old white sheets on furniture (a cool effect, and it keeps things clean if people get messy), Black lights everywhere are a must (they'll make the white-sheeted furniture glow and pop against the black walls), balloons in black, purple, white, whatever (I personally think black and orange is a little tacky and cliche, but that's just me), streamers can be used, shredded black garbage bags can be hung in doorways. Spider webs everywhere are good too. Fog machines are an amazing touch, and a totally necessity for me. They are really easy to get, just ask around. You might be surprised at who already owns one. Decorate to your hearts content and get everyone in on it.

  7. Step 7

A lot of how-to's recommend having games at teen parties. I am totally against this. A costume contest is okay to have though. You can have people vote for the best in different categories, such as scariest, funniest, sexiest, and so on. Make up whatever category you want, and give good prizes. I personally think $5 or $10 iTunes gift cards are awesome. The main thing you want is for people to dance and socialize and have a good time doing whatever. But, by all means, if you think some kind of game at your party would be fun, go for it. This is all about you after all, though it is always better to be safe and get some opinions from your committee.

  8. Step 8

If you are a teen, it is not completely dumb to have a couple of parents around. They are seriously handy in helping with food and cleaning up. Just make sure they are off doing there own thing so you can have fun and leave the worry to them. Above all, have a good time at your party.

Tips & Warnings
  • Have fun! Don't take anything too seriously.
  • Keep the lights low so people will be more inclined to dance around and get crazy.
  • Keep everything you do in the spirit of Halloween.
