Ever wondered how to build a relationship with Jesus Christ?

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • There are no requirements other than honesty.
  1. Step 1

Make sure that this is something that you want to do. If it is not honest, it will never work.

  2. Step 2

Find a place that you enjoy to be alone. This is not a requirement, but, it will make things alot easier.

  3. Step 3

Introduce you self to Jesus Christ.

Not in the traditional sense. You can but it is not what I meant.

Tell him why you are there. Tell him everything you think that he needs to know. If you have ever been on a first date, think of that. Tell him everything that you would want him to know about you. All the bad things. The things that you do not have the guts to tell anyone else.

  4. Step 4

Apologize for above actions. For all the things in your life that have hindered you ability to be with him. Tell him how sorry you are that you have messed up and how you want things to be. Tell Him what kind of relationship you would like to have.

  5. Step 5

Ask him to forgive you and enter into your heart and show you how to live a Goldy life. Ask Him to watch over you and help you to overcome the things that you struggle with.

  6. Step 6

Show him you love Him, and that you are truly in need of Him. I know most of you think you do not think you need Him, but, you do. In some way or another you need Him, and He is always going to be there.

  7. Step 7

Attend your local church. Make sure that the church you pick is one that agrees with the Word of God. Choose one that is of your liking, or more importantly, the one you think God is leading you to.

  8. Step 8

Buy a Bible and read it. Not just every once and a while, but, on a regular basis. This is how we communicate with Him. We are told to keep in constant communications with Him, and this is a way you can do this.

  9. Step 9

Get you family involved. Let them know what is going on with you and invite them to join you.

  10. Step 10

This is all you need to live a good an Goldy life. If you have any questions, ask you local pastor. If he is any kind of guy, he is going to be more than willing to help.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be honest. Make sure that you are not going after something other than a relationship with God. If you are only there to get something from him, He is most likely not going to answer.
  • Same as above.

on 9/24/2009 Honestly, I disagree with some of these points in this... It is Not entirely a human decision, simply steps into becoming a Christian, asking "Jesus to come into your heart", or saying sorry for "messing up"; this is simply not taught in the bible, it is so much more than that. We cannot make it sound this small, it is vastly bigger and deeper than this. This is how God sees it and as Christians we ought to.

You have not simply "messed up", You have rebelled against the God of the universe; there is no good within you to love God or to submit to him, everything you have ever done apart from God is full of wickedness.

The proper response in becoming a Christian is to see how entirely wicked you are and how great of a sinner you are in God's eyes (Romans 3), deserving of God's holy hatred against you (Ephesians 2). This is the first step into becoming a Christian. Jesus Christ has...

on 6/13/2008 Great article! Even though Jesus knows everything bad about us I agree it just makes sense to blurt it all out to help us come to terms and admit that all thoughs things were wrong.

on 11/27/2007 Xailan I rated all just for you.... Heb 10:25 says "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. " One should attend church.
also look at those became christians in the new testament. they didn't have the cath. history then! and in every example of conversion in the new testament baptism was done...

on 10/26/2007 hi. i LOVE God and try my best to follow Him. No im not perfect, no one is, but I must tell katibahamas that you DO NOT have to read about the split of the roman catholic church. this is a Christian for goodness sakes. not catholic. ONLY Christians and those who believe that Jesus is the ONLY way to heaven will EVER see heaven and live there with God for eternity. Xailan, i would like to point out that you do not have to join a church all the times. like me and my family, we have been doing home church for the past year or so and find it a time to draw closer to the Lord. if you join a church, make sure that they believe that Jesus is the only way. pray to God that He will iluminate Him self to you and show you the right path to take in the church you decide. Best blessings, danielle.

on 10/10/2007 You first need to read and learn about Christianity. Read up on the church's history and find out about what happened once Jesus ascended to the present day. Read about the Great Schism that caused the Roman Catholic Church to split from the Orthodox church. You don't want to just walk in to any church because sadly some churches have split so far off the mainstream that they don't necessarily teach what Jesus taught.
The more you learn about Christ and his teachings the more faith you'll have and a closer relationship.
