Have you ever tried to jog a trail with your keys in your hand? How about tied to your shoes? Feel uncomfortable about leaving your key or cash in a locker in the gym? Would like to keep your ticket from the nursery at the gym with you when you work out? Now you can. These instructions and the pattern I supply will allow you to create a small discreet pocket that is held together by high powered magnets. Just large enough for the items you can’t afford to have stolen.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Print out supplied pattern piece. It should be 9 inches long and 3 inches wide. Cut one piece of fabric the shape of the pattern piece. You can print out the image from http://www.makethemyourself.com/pocket.html.
Step2
Serge both ends. If you don’t have a serger you can use a ¼-inch hem.
Step3
Fold ends back to overlap body (with right sides together) and sew the sides.
Step4
Turn right side out.
Step5
Fold pocket in half and sew side seam. Making sure it goes up and connects the facing piece as well.
Step6
Serge or finish seams.
Step7
Turn pocket right side out.
Step8
Take one power magnet (Max strength) and push into each top portion. Sew a seam underneath the magnet to keep it from sliding down.
Step9
Cover remaining facing with fabric glue.
Step10
Push facing into place by inserting fingers into the pocket and allow to dry overnight.
