Becoming bored in traffic is an especially big problem if you have a long commute or travel often. There are a number of ways to break up the monotony of driving.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Play road games by yourself or with others. For example, see how many license plates you can count from other states. If you have passengers in the car, play "I Spy" or other simple, fun road games to help pass the time.
Step2
Listen to audio books. Most contemporary books, as well as a number of classics, are available on audio cassette or CD for listening in the car. Whether you like non-fiction or fiction, there's surely an audio book to suit your tastes.
Step3
Sing along with the radio. While you might be a spectacle to drivers around you, all that really matters is that you have fun and avoid boredom.
Step4
Do affirmations and focus on your goals because you have time to think deeply when you're stuck in traffic. While some might find it boring, it doesn't have to be. Think of your daily life meditation as a refuge from the world and a proactive way to plan for your future.
Step5
Educate yourself by listening to National Public Radio (NPR) or other educational programs. Listen to the news and learn about books and science on your morning commute.
