How to Re-list an Unsold Item on eBay

Despite your best efforts of researching products, taking good pictures and writing thorough auction descriptions there will be times when an item for sale on eBay does not sell. When an auction ends with the item unsold you may wish to re-list the item. You also may need to re-list an item when the auction ended with a winning bidder that did not pay.

Instructions

    • 1

Log in to your eBay account and go to your "My eBay" page.

    • 2

Click on the "Unsold" link under the "All Selling" category on the left side of the page if you are re-listing an item that did not sell. If you need to re-list an item that sold but the winner didn't pay, then click on the "Sold" link.

    • 3

Choose the "Re-list" option from the drop down menu to the right of the auction title.

    • 4

Go to "Edit Listing" at the top of the page to make any changes that you want to make to your auction. You may wish to lower the starting price to encourage bidding.

    • 5

Find the "List Your Item" button at the bottom of the page and click it after all changes have been made.

Tips & Warnings

  • You will automatically receive an Insertion Fee Credit for your re-listed item if it sells the second time through. However the item must be re-listed within ninety days of the first auction and it may not be re-listed for a higher price than it was offered the first time.

  • EBay policy says you must re-list your item through the "Re-list" feature as outlined above in order to get the Insertion Fee Credit. If you copy and paste your unsold auction description into a new listing you will not be eligible for the credit.
