If you've been using lack of time as an excuse for not exercising, then dust off those running shoes and put on the headphones. Procrastinate no more and get back into shape by doing these mini-workouts. All you need is 10 minutes, so set the timer and get moving.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Start with your legs. Take 10 minutes during your lunch break or after dinner to squeeze in a power walk outside or on the treadmill. It's a great way to work off those extra mealtime calories.
Step2
Carry a jump rope in your bag. The next time you are watching the kids play at the park, take 10 minutes to jump. Not only does jumping rope improve cardiovascular health, it's fun too. You can even get your kids involved by holding a little friendly competition.
Step3
Turn up the music. If you can't stand the thought of exercising, disguise it as a fun activity. Put on some fast-paced music and dance around the living room with your toddler.
Step4
Work your body by completing a few sets of push-ups and sit-ups. You can do these easy exercises at night while you watch television.
Step5
Incorporate hand weights into your 10-minute routine and perform basic arm exercises to strengthen your biceps and triceps.

Tips & Warnings

  • Although it was once believed that in order to reap the true benefits of exercise you would need to work out for a period of at least 30 consecutive minutes, it has been shown that short, 10-minute workouts can work to strengthen and tone your body, as well as reduce blood pressure.
