If you want to revise an eBay auction before bid opens, you are free to change any detail of the auction other than the listing format or the auction duration. This is true for the entire time that the auction is active except for during the last twelve hours of the auction. No revisions may be made to an auction when there are twelve hours or less remaining.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Log into your account and go to your "My eBay" page.

  2. Step 2

Click the "Selling" link under the "All Selling" column on the left side of the page.

  3. Step 3

Locate the auction that you want to revise.

  4. Step 4

Choose "Revise" from the pull down menu to the right of the auction title.

  5. Step 5

Make any changes to your auction on the "Revise Item" page. When you are all finished making revisions, click on the "Save and Continue" button at the bottom of the page.

  6. Step 6

Review your auction carefully to make sure that all changes made are correct. You may wish to click the "Preview Your Listing" link so you can read through your description one final time. When you are happy with your changes, click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the page.

Tips & Warnings
  • You are allowed to change the duration of the auction only if you revise your auction within two hours of starting your listing.
  • Once a bid has been placed on your auction, you are much more limited on the revisions you can make. Therefore it is always a good idea to check your auctions shortly after they start so you can fix any mistakes and make any changes you wish to make before the bidding begins.
