1
Begin by cutting three rectangle shapes from black construction paper for the body. Make the rectangles approximately 2 inches by 6 inches. Place one rectangle on top of another. With your fingers, hold one end of the papers together while spreading the other ends apart to make an inverted V shape until the opposite corners barely touch. Glue these rectangles into place.
-
2
Place the third rectangle horizontally straight across the top of the other two to make the arms and shoulders. Glue this one into place.
-
3
Cut two small rectangles from white construction paper. They should be small and thin, about 1/12 inch by 1/4 of an inch. Glue these at about a 30 degree angle at the top center of the horizontal black rectangle to be the shirt collar.
-
4
Cut from the tan construction paper a circle about 3 inches in diameter for the head. Also cut two mitten shaped hands. Glue on top of the shoulders, slightly overlapping the white collar. Glue the hands into place.
-
5
Make a hat from the black paper by cutting an inverted U-shape with a wide brim. Glue this over the top of the head. While gluing on the hat to the face, also glue a few strands of yarn between the hat and face, on the sides for hair. It can be any color.
-
6
Cut leg and feet shapes, small round buttons, and a band for the hat out of gray construction paper. Glue the legs to the bottom of the black coat, the buttons down the center front under the collar, and the band to the hat right above the brim.
-
7
Finish by drawing eyes, a nose and mouth to the face of the pilgrim.
