Step 1
Take aloe vera pills. They can be found in most health food stores, and they will help your body process water more quickly during a period.
-
Step 2
Avoid salt and sodium, as they make your body retain water. Use other flavorings to spice up your food. Read labels on pre-packaged foods to see if they contain "hidden" sodium.
-
Step 3
Get lots of vitamins A and B6. These mild diuretics aid in processing water and getting it out of your system to relieve bloating.
-
Step 4
Watch what you eat. Stay away from chocolate, caffeine and refined sugars. Poor nutrition increases water retention. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables to relieve bloating.
-
Step 5
Sweat to get rid of excess water, but continue to drink water while you work out.
-
Step 6
Drink chamomile tea. The herbs will soothe some of the pain caused by your period, and the mild diuretic effect will relieve the bloating.
