How to Create an AOL Journal
In 2003, America Online (AOL) introduced AOL Journals, a service that lets you share conversation, ideas and photos with others. Members can use this tool to create a journal, blog or personal column. You can embed pictures into your text with AOL's Picture Finder. Bring your world to your friends by creating an AOL Journal. It's easy and fun.

1
Open an AOL account so AOL becomes your Internet service provider. Once you are a member, you can then utilize any of the services AOL offers.
-
2
Choose a type of journal. Your imagination dictates how you utilize the journal. For example, you can use it to keep in touch with friends and send pictures while you are traveling, as a family album or even as a music or sports fan site.

3
Log in with your screen name and password on the AOL People Connection page. Click on the "Blog" tab.
-
4
Pick either "Create a Public Blog" or "Create a Private Blog." This takes you to the "Create a Journal" page. Give your journal a name. Don't make it too long; the journal name will appear in your web address.
-
5
Select "Simple" or "Custom." For first-timers, start with a simple journal. You can always customize it after you become more familiar with the service.
-
6
Hit "Next!" Your new web address will open. Fill in email addresses of all the people you wish to communicate with through your journal and hit "Add Entry." You've created your AOL Journal. All you have to do now is make your first post.
