Conditions such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure or diabetes can cause changes in erectile dysfunction. Levitra is a prescription that is used to treat erectile dysfunction. Follow these steps if you are considering Levitra for erectile dysfunction.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Go to the Levitra website. There you can find information about the product and can order a Men's Fact Kit, which includes a brochure about erectile dysfunction, a discussion guide that can help you to discuss erectile dysfunction with your doctor and a voucher for one free prescription for Levitra.

  2. Step 2

See your doctor and find out if Levitra is a good choice for you. Levitra is not recommended if you are taking beta blockers. Reduced doses of Levitra are recommended for patients taking alpha blockers and a number of other medications.

  3. Step 3

Take only the recommended starting dose of Levitra--10 mg no more than once a day or the dose that your doctor recommends. Always allow 24 hours between doses.

  4. Step 4

Avoid Levitra if you are taking a nitrate drug for heart problems or chest pain. Stop taking Levitra and get to your local emergency room if you experience sudden vision loss. In some patients, Levitra has caused decreased blood flow to the eye that has resulted in vision loss.

Tips & Warnings
  • Contact your doctor and stop taking Levitra if you have an erection that lasts more than 4 hours or is painful. This type of condition, which is known as priapism, can damage the penis.
