Tips & Warnings

  • Try a few practice runs. As with many Word 2007 features, you can get faster at selections with some practice.

  • Edit fonts, colors and spacing without affecting the overall theme by using individual buttons for each function under the "Home" tab of the toolbar.

  • Use the right-click mouse function in Word 2007 to do quick changes of font, add bullets and numbering or change spacing.

  • Remember, the themes feature works only in a Word 2007 document. It doesn't work in a compatibility mode, one done in an earlier version of Word.

  • Assign styles such as headings in the document. These automatically format according to the theme you choose. You can still edit manually.

  • Utilize the "Help" function to guide you further or get you out of trouble.
