Chaco sandals are popular and comfortable sports sandals for children and adults. They offer arch support and carry a seal of acceptance from the American Podiatric Medical Association. Chaco doesn't make shoes, and their entire focus is on sandals, which are warranted for life against any defects in materials and workmanship.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Put your non-leather Chaco sandals in the washing machine with jeans and other dark-colored clothing. Any detergent is OK as long as it doesn't contain bleach. You can place them in a mesh bag to protect your other clothing from wear and tear if you'd like.
Step2
Air dry your sandals.
Step3
Hand wash your sandals using baking soda, water and a scrub brush.
Step4
Floss your straps to loosen sand and grit on the channels.
Step5
Spray a diluted solution of Armor-All into the webbing slots--this will help your straps to slide more easily.
Step6
Clean leather Chacos with a damp cloth and allow them to air dry. Drying with heat will cause them to crack.

Tips & Warnings

  • The Chaco website also offers tips on resoling and rewebbing these sandals.
  • Clean your Chaco sandals frequently to extend their life. It also helps to avoid the smell that sandals can get when they are worn often.
  • Chaco has a recycled shoe program--if you are done with your sandals you can return them to the company. Chaco will clean and refurbish the sandals and give them to people in communities in need. Visit the Chaco website for more information about this program.
