How to Walk Through a Piece of Paper
If someone told you they could walk through a hole in an 8.5 by 11 inch piece of paper, you would probably call them crazy. However, it is possible. All you have to do is make strategic cuts in the paper to make this happen. Amaze your friends by showing them how you can walk through a piece of paper.
Instructions
-
-
1
Choose a regular 8.5 inch by 11 inch piece of paper. Fold the 8.5 length of the paper in half.
-
2
Cut a thin, rectangular hole in the paper at the fold about three quarters of an inch from each side in the center of the fold. Make it about half an inch into the paper.
-
-
3
On one side of the paper, cut where this strip of paper ends all the way to the other side of the paper, stopping at about half an inch from the end. Do the same on the other side of the paper.
-
4
Start at the bottom of the paper and make another cut half an inch above the one you made by turning the paper and cutting down the length of the paper starting at the opposite side and toward the folded end. Stop cutting half an inch from the fold.
-
5
Turn the paper again and make another cut half an inch above the second cut. Start this one from the fold end and cut toward the other side stopping half an inch from the end.
-
6
Continue doing this, alternating the sides each time you cut, making the cuts half an inch above each other and stopping a half an inch from the end with each cut.
-
7
Open your cut paper to reveal a huge chain of paper that you can fit your whole body through!

I have seen this done with a 3x5 card. It is a great way to entertain kids ages 5-13 especially. Unless they have seen it done before, they try to convince you it is impossible, but they're amazed when it's done. -
