Operating a train is a complicated task and a job that requires months of preparation. There are many gadgets involved in the operation a train. A strong adherence to protocol, directions and instructions are needed for a smooth and safe train ride.

Step1
Go through a proper training process; work with an experienced train operator to understand the working of a train. Learn about the different knobs and levers that help to operate a train. Know all the codes and regulations that are involved in running a smooth train course.
Step2
Keep yourself updated on all signals, sounds and symbols before jumping in the practical field of operating a train. Clear any written examinations or an assessment test to become qualified to operate a train.
Step3
Follow the rules when operating a train. Do not let the train go forward at a red signal as this can cause massive fatal accidents. Keep the train running at the assigned speed limit.
Step4
Apply brakes when the need arises or when you spot any hindrance on the train track. Use the horn when approaching a station to let every body know to steer away from the train tracks.
Step5
Observe the speedometer, air pressure and brake fuels of the train at regular intervals. Report to the main operating quarters immediately in case you spot any prominent changes in the compartments.

  • Start operating the train only when you get a green signal to move forward.
  • Be alert at all times when working as a train operator and never leave your designated spot.
