Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
List those things you want to include in the silly poem. Make a list of things your friend has done that makes you laugh, things your friend is obsessive about and problems they have. For example, if your friend is obsessive about "American Idol", write that on the list; include the word "broke" if they complain of no money or a burned dinner they may have made. It's a silly poem to cheer them up, so list those things you know your friend will smile about.
Step2
Add words that rhyme with those words from your list; write them next to the words you've already written down. For example, "Idol" rhymes with "Midol" and "lustful yearning" can rhyme with "chicken burning".
Step3
String together phrases and sentences to complete a thought; write those down next to the rhyming words. Next, write out complete sentences, remembering to keep them silly for your friend.
Step4
Decide how you'll rhyme the silly poem. Perhaps you'd like to rhyme every sentence or every other sentence. Put the sentences together in different ways and write them down.
Step5
Read the sentences aloud to determine the "beat" or cadence of the sound. Change the words or sentences around until you're satisfied with how they sound. When you're satisfied, write the poem by putting the sentences together and read it aloud again.
Step6
Print the poem and put it in a silly frame that you know your friend will love. Frames are so varied, you can find frames with just about any interest your friend has. Remember to keep the frame as silly as the poem.
