Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Listen to your friends when they have something to say. Everyone likes to feel like his or her voice is being heard, and you can really make your friend feel special by simply listening to what he or she has to say – big or small.
Step2
Ask questions about your friends' lives. This is one big way that you can let your friends know you are interested in what's going on with them. By asking them questions and getting them to share their feelings, they will feel special.
Step3
Do something special for your friends to let them know that you appreciate them. Pick up the phone and give them a call, or write a handwritten card and send it to them through the mail. Better yet, cook them a meal or offer to baby-sit for them so they can have some precious time to themselves.
Step4
Apologize to your friends when you hurt their feelings. Even if it is not your fault or a misunderstanding, apologizing will let them know that you are sorry they are hurt and you want to get back on the right track with them. Swallowing your pride will make them realize just how special they are to you.
Step5
Remember details about your friends. Keep a calendar full of birthdays and anniversaries. Send them cards or make a quick call to wish them well on those special occasions in their lives.
Step6
Compliment and thank your friends when they do a good job. Let them know that they are doing great and that you are thankful for all that they do.
