How to Use a Stove Top Smoker
Enjoying smokehouse meals doesn't require a trip to a restaurant. Use a stove top smoker to prepare some of your favorite dishes. Smoke ribs, pork, chicken or any other meat conveniently on the stove top. Treat yourself to great smoked dishes all year around without the hassle of soaking kindling for the outdoor smoker. Place wood chips in a small pile in the center of the smoker base. Wood chips can be purchased in several different varieties including apple, bourbon, cherry and hickory.

Put the drip tray on top of the wood chips in the base of the smoker. Catch all grease and liquids from the food. Line the drip tray with aluminum foil for easier cleanup.

Add the wire rack to the top of the base, and slide the cover on the stove top smoker before putting it on the cooking range. Set the heat level at a medium level for best smoking results.

Preheat the smoker for as long as you like before adding the food to be smoked. Remove the lid carefully using pot holders. Add the food, and return the lid to allow the food to cook.

Tips & Warnings
The longer the wood chips cook before putting in the food to smoke, the smokier the flavor. If the dish requires a shorter cooking time, preheat the wood chips for a longer time, before adding the food.
You may need to disconnect your smoke detector while using your stove top smoker if you're exhaust system handle the amount of smoke. Remember to reconnect when you're finished.
Make sure to turn the exhaust fan to highest setting over the stove to prevent the spread of smoke throughout your home.
Be careful when removing the lid after you've finished smoking the food. Use pot holders or oven mitten designed to handle extreme heat.
