How to Find Buddhist Figurines

You may be among the many people who love to collect the Buddha. Buddha figurine collectors have various radically different aims. Although many in the West are just following a trend or collecting for fun to show off a shelf full of interesting curios, Buddhism is also a major world religion, and Buddhists also collect figurines of the Buddha for religious use. As a result, there are so many venues for buying the jovially round figure of the Buddha that collectors will never run out of places to search.

Instructions

    • 1

Look in local Aisan shops. Small stores exist all over the world, including Aisan-run shops operating in the "Chinatown" sections of many major cities. These shops generally import the Buddha statues directly from China or other Aisan countries. Look to these shops as an easy way to physically browse for the Buddha.

    • 2

Try online vendors. A variety of vendors sell many types of Buddha figurines, wood, metal, plastic or ceramic. Bighappybuddha.com is one such site that offers a huge selection. Also try Fengshuibestbuy.com and Theoldgiftshop.com for more Buddha figurines.

    • 3

Try a major retailer. Buddha figurines, believe it or not, are on sale at many of the greater retail chains. Target.com is one chain that offers Buddha figurines for sale online along with all kinds of other merchandise.

    • 4

Try eBay. As a leader in web-oriented commerce, eBay is another place to find privately owned Buddha figurines for sale.

    • 5

Talk to other collectors. As enthusiasts of the Buddha, they can generally point you toward outlets for buying Buddha-related products. Collectors may also be willing to part with some or all of their collection, for a price. The trading of Buddha figurines is probably a part of any collector's community where the Buddha is proudly displayed.
