Adding a new member to a family will inevitably add more expenses to you budget. Finding deals on baby products can help to alleviate some of the financial stress. Inexpensive baby products are easy to find once you get the hang of bargain shopping. Soon you will be putting that extra cash into a college account for your child.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Newspaper
  • Coupons
  1. Step 1

Shop clearance racks for clothing, shoes and other baby items. Look for racks that have a 35 to 50 percent discount.

  2. Step 2

Scan newspaper ads and weekly mailers for sales. Ask store clerks about upcoming sales for items that are not reduced in price.

  3. Step 3

Look in the classified ads for baby furniture. Look for garage sales, in the classifieds that advertise baby furniture.

  4. Step 4

Collect coupons for baby items that you buy frequently. Clip coupons from mailers, newspapers or download coupons from the Internet.

  5. Step 5

Shop for baby products on the Internet. Shop online auctions, discount sites and price comparison websites.

  6. Step 6

Purchase the book "Baby Bargains: Secrets to Saving 20% to 50% on Baby Furniture, Equipment, Clothes, Toys, Maternity Wear and Much, Much More!" by Denise Fields. Follow the shopping guidelines.

  7. Step 7

Look for generic brands in your favorite stores. Purchase generics for lotion, soap, baby bath and other items.

Tips & Warnings
  • Arrive at garage sales first thing in the morning for the best selection.
  • Ask friends that are done having babies if they will be selling their gear.
  • Stick to coupons with name-brand diapers if you must have them.
  • Never buy used car seats.

on 7/6/2009 AffordableBabyOrganics.com is an easy way to save on organic baby products! It is a store that specializes in making organics affordable to the average family. Their onesies for example, are 100% organic cotton and are priced below $10. Everywhere else I have looked are upwards of $20 per onesie. They are a great resource to add to this list.
