Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • Black or brown food coloring
  • Bowl
  • Make-up sponge or Q-tip
  1. Step 1

Measure out two tablespoons of solid, plain shortening into a small bowl.

  2. Step 2

Add one tablespoon of cornstarch to the shortening. Mix the two ingredients together well until the mixture is smooth.

  3. Step 3

Add black or brown food coloring, which you can get at a cake decorating store, department store, party store or online. Mix until well blended. Add the color a little at a time as you need it until the color you desire is achieved.

  4. Step 4

Use a small makeup sponge or Q-tip to apply the makeup to your face. Create a mustache and a beard and outline your eyebrows to make yourself look like a genuine pirate.

  5. Step 5

Remove the makeup with soap and water or any face-cleaning product at the end of the day.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you can't find black or brown food coloring, you can mix up red, blue and green to make black or red and green to make brown.
  • You can apply the makeup to your arms and hands to be even more of an authentic pirate character.
  • You can also use this recipe to make princess makeup by mixing red or pink with the shortening and cornstarch to apply to your cheeks. You can add glitter to make it even prettier. Make a red color for your lips.
  • Don't put too much food coloring in your mixture or it will be difficult to remove the color from your skin.
  • Don't put the makeup on your eyelids or it could get into your eyes.
