Kissing someone the first time is scary. French kissing someone for the first time is extremely scary. A lesson will help a friend feel more confident about French kissing and will help them avoid mistakes that we all make when learning how to kiss.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Be encouraging and positive. Kissing anyone is a nerve wrecking experience in any instance. The first time is especially scary since you're supposed to actually know what you're doing.

  2. Step 2

Start with the basics. Where to place your hands and how to lean in to initiate a kiss. These are the easiest things to start with and most terrifying parts of kissing anyone.

  3. Step 3

Move on to something easy, such as a closed mouth kiss. This may seem too simple but is the starting point to French kissing.

  4. Step 4

Next show how to initiate a French kiss by slowly opening your mouth. Remember to talk about things like what happens if the other person doesn't react or respond or is just plain confused.

  5. Step 5

The next thing to consider is the actual French kiss. Give as many starting tips on the bare basics. Also remember to add all the things that could go wrong and how to avoid them. One of the biggest is clinking teeth together at the beginning of a French kiss and avoiding it only requires steadying yourself on the other person's arm or solid object like a wall.

  6. Step 6

Once you've gone through the breakdown of French kissing, add any tips that will help. Chewing gum beforehand and staying flat on your feet so you don't stumble are both good things to add to the lesson.

Tips & Warnings
  • You don't literally have to kiss someone to give them a French kissing lesson. Just talking about the mechanics of kissing helps. French kissing is one thing that no one talks about in detail and something that everyone assumes that everyone else knows how to do.
