Fairies seem to capture the attention of all little girls, and even a boy or two. Get your child's creative juices flowing by helping them create little fairy friends from some simple craft materials. With a little bit of practice, your little ones will be crafting their hearts out and think of adventures for their new fairy friends.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Remove the stems from the artificial flowers. Use scissors if they do not pull apart easily.

  2. Step 2

Draw a face on a wooden bead. Make sure that the holes are on the top and bottom.

  3. Step 3

Bend a pipe cleaner into thirds. Cut one of the thirds off and set it aside.

  4. Step 4

Wrap the embroidery floss around three or four fingers to form the hair. Wrap until there is enough string for the fairy to have a full head of hair.

  5. Step 5

Fold the large pipe cleaner in half. Center the hair in the pipe cleaner fold and twist the pipe cleaner several times to secure the hair. Slide the head up the pipe cleaner until it fits snugly against the hair.

  6. Step 6

Snip the ends of the hair. Glue loose pieces to the sides and back of the head.

  7. Step 7

Wrap the short pipe cleaner around the main pipe cleaner, just below the head, to form the arms. Slide flower petals up the legs until they sit just under the arms. Twist the legs to keep the petals in place. Fold over all the pipe cleaner ends.

Tips & Warnings
  • Form wings out of extra pipe cleaners and attach them to the fairy's back.
  • Use several layers of different flowers for a full and colorful skirt.
  • Make a miniature crown and wand for the fairy. Attach them with glue.
