Hair conditioner was discovered during World War II by scientists looking for relief for burn victims. The resulting compound softened hair as well as skin. Today it also has a number of properties that make it useful all around the house. Check out the following suggestions for ways to use hair conditioner around your house.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Remove a ring that's stuck on a finger. Slick the finger with a hair conditioner and slide the ring right off.
Step2
Conditioner leather and keep shoes safe from the snow and salt in the winter. Slather shoes and boots with hair conditioner and buff with a dry cloth. Protect leather boots and shoes against harsh weather. Repeat throughout the season.
Step3
Use a little hair conditioner to soothe razor burn. After shaving legs, rub on hair conditioner to ease irritation.
Step4
Wash a "dry clean only" silk shirt. Fill the sink with warm water for a white shirt (cool for colors) and add a spoonful of hair conditioner and swish. Add the shirt and let it soak for several minutes. Remove, rinse well and hang to dry.
Step5
Smooth a jerky shower curtain. Rub some hair conditioner along the shower rod so the curtain can glide smoothly back and forth.
Step6
Forgo expensive polish for stainless steel. Apply hair conditioner to chrome, golf clubs, fixtures, faucets and anything else that needs a bit of a shine. Buff it off with a soft cloth and admire the shine.
Step7
Whisk off make-up with a bit of hair conditioner. Rub it on for quick, easy, inexpensive make-up removal.
