Flowers are usually the center of attention. Make a collage vase to personalized a table or corner in a room. Start with any vase and create a colorful vessel to display with or without flowers.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Paper
  • Decoupage glue
  • Vase
  • Scissors
  • Small paint brush
  • Ribbon

Step1
Tear or cut piece of paper into small shapes. Cut specific shapes, or make the vase more abstract by tearing pieces into odd shapes.
Step2
Use a decoupage gel or a strong adhesive to coat each piece of paper. After coating, place the paper on the vase.
Step3
Overlap pieces when putting them on the vase until the entire vase is covered with no glass showing.
Step4
Brush a thin layer of either the decoupage glue or clear polyurethane coating over the entire vase. Let the vase dry.
Step5
Make a bow using ribbon of any color. Attach it to the neck of the vase with the same glue you used to attach all the paper pieces.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use tissue paper, wrapping paper, or any other colorful paper.
  • Cut pictures from magazines or use your own photos to make a photo collage on the vase. Follow all the steps exactly the same way.
  • Drying times for glue may vary depending on the humidity level. Vases may need to dry for 24 to 48 hours before using.
  • Use different shaped vases for the project. Find round, square or even triangular shaped containers to start with.
  • Cut words from magazines to add messages on the vase.
  • Don't put any paper, glue or polyurethane inside the vase.
