How to Use a Pilates Foot Corrector

If foot pain often plagues you, there are exercises to combat the distress. Try a Pilates foot corrector to work the muscles of your foot and lower ankle and you'll alleviate that foot pain in no time.

Instructions

    • 1

Place your foot. Your heel goes on the smaller end with your toes pointing to the longer end of the foot corrector. Use it only on stable surfaces to keep the foot corrector from sliding.

    • 2

Work your heels. Place your heel on the foot corrector with your toes on the flat surface. Push down slowly with your heel, and then slowly bring it back up.

    • 3

Work your toes. Put the ball of your foot on the foot corrector and your heel on the flat surface. Push the ball of your foot down slowly, and then release. When working your toes keep them curled. They should be pointing toward the Pilates foot corrector and not the ceiling.

    • 4

Exercise your arch. Place your arch directly on the foot correct. Push up-and-down slowly to give your arch a good workout.

    • 5

Give yourself a massage. Place a towel over the metal part of the foot corrector to avoid any pinching. Rub your foot across the foot corrector from the ball of the foot, over the arch and continue to the heel. Keep going back-and-forth for a deep post-workout massage.

Tips & Warnings

  • The foot corrector is designed to work one foot at a time. Do a few reps on one foot and then move to the other working both for the same amount of time.

  • Work your toes, heels and arches each time you use the foot corrector. The combination of the 3 exercises will produce the best results.
