Step 1
Stage an intervention. Bring concerned friends and family together. Tell your friend there's nothing wrong with being attracted to a particular body type, but explain that the pressure to gain more weight is becoming increasingly uncomfortable.
-
Step 2
Send your friend to a National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance conference. Assist your friend in understanding the significance of this issue.
-
Step 3
Encourage them to seek counseling to make sure their chubby chasing behavior is not covering up deeper insecurities. Find a therapist that has treated couples in similar situations.
-
Step 4
Remind your friend that being overweight isn't healthy and that indulging his habit could hurt you.
-
Step 5
Have your friend wear a rubber band on his wrist. Every time the chubby chaser chatter begins, snap the rubber band as a form of negative reinforcement. Help your friend find a hobby to have a positive outlet and improve self confidence.

on 4/21/2009 I somewhat agree with Jared86, just stay away from them. I do better with men who are attracted to me b/c of me not because I'm "rubinesque". Its just annoying

on 1/28/2009 This is horrific advice. Slapping a chubby chasing man with a plastic band in order to psyche him out of liking a certain body type is like electroshocking gay men to force them to be heterosexual.
