With Kodak F-135 Film Scanner plug and play technology, you can have your pictures quickly developed by a minilab. Operating the Kodak DLS software is a cinch if you follow these steps. All you need is the computer media containing your pictures.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Go to a Kodak Picture Maker mini lab/kiosk in the photography department of your favorite store. Actually a mini-photo lab, this is where the Kodak DLS Software is used.
Step2
Choose the digital pictures you want to print using the touch screen. Input the photos from your computer media (CD or disk). When the pictures load into the computer at the lab, edit them with automatic correction, zoom, crop and brightness features.
Step3
Use the Kodak DLS software to scan and develop 35 mm slide film as well. Use their Digital Ice technology. To be safe, have a staff member standing by. They can guide you as you work with the film.
Step4
Click on "Focus and Scan" to pull in the first frame on the strip of slide film. Set the machine to the "General Operator" method.
Step5
Put the film in the area marked for it (on top of the lab). This slide film will go through the machine on a roll. It travels through the equipment and comes out the other side. When it comes all of the way through, it is developed.
Step6
Select the print options you want to use, including the size of the picture copy. If digital, you can have them printed right at the kiosk. You can also choose to develop and print 35 mm pictures in the same area with help from the staff.
Step7
Copy all of your digital photos to a CD as part of the process. It will come with thumbnail pictures on the label to show at a glance what you have. Getting your pictures printed at a kiosk or minilab using Kodak DLS software lets you work with your photos as needed.

Tips & Warnings

  • The Kodak DLS Software makes the minilab work so easy that a total beginner will have no problem using it with little instruction.
  • Kodak uses technically savvy software algorithms to achieve pictures.
  • Print options are made possible by templates Kodak has manufactured for the DLS Software.
