Dogs are an owner's best friend and this even applies to Sims. If you want your Sim to have a canine companion, you must make sure he can adequately care for him. A dog can bring a lifetime of friendship to a Sim so you should provide the pet with best care possible.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Buy a food dish for your dog and put it in a spot that is easy for her to access. Click on the dish and select "Fill Bowl" whenever it's empty. Filling the bowl costs ten Simoleons. Select the "Clean" option if it appears when you click on the food dish.

  2. Step 2

Provide your dog with chew toys and save your furniture. This will keep the Sim and his pet happy.

  3. Step 3

Give your dog a bath every few days. Make sure you have a bathtub, because you cannot bathe dogs in showers or sinks. Check your dog's status bar for his hygiene level. If she needs a bath, click on the tub and select "Give Bath To [Pet's Name]." Your Sim will call the dog, the dog will enter the tub and your Sim can bathe her.

  4. Step 4

Regularly exercise the dog. Click on the dog and select "Take For Walk." Your Sim and the dog will leave the lot for 40 to 60 Sim minutes.

  5. Step 5

Give your dog attention and love. The more friendly a dog is, the more he needs social interaction with your Sim. Use the "Give Love" and "Play" interactions often to fulfill this need.
