5. Search the web. Internet auctions are one of the best places to find dolls for your collection. They have a huge variety of famous, expensive and hand made dolls that you can view 24 hours a day.

6. Attend doll and craft shows to find the doll you are looking for. Also go to toy stores in your area to pick up a doll or toy for your collection.

7. Look for dolls that are in good condition, come in their original attire and have the original packing or tags intact. If you collect antique dolls, the value will be higher if the face and painting on different parts of the body are in mint condition.
