Instructions

    • 1

Find a bucket that is big enough to use as a trick or treat pail, but not too big to carry your candy around on Halloween night. Some good things to use are a beach pail or an empty ice cream bucket.

    • 2

Measure out construction paper so that you have enough to cover the entire bucket. Use orange, black or white paper to use as a base color for the pail. Glue the construction paper onto the bucket to cover up any words or decorations on the container.

    • 3

Draw Halloween pictures with a pencil onto the other colors of construction paper. Draw things such as ghosts, pumpkins, skulls, scarecrows, bats and so forth. Cut out these pictures and glue them onto the bucket.

    • 4

Glue foam Halloween designs that you can purchase at any crafts store onto your pail. Glue wiggle eyes onto your designs if you like.

    • 5

Cut two pieces of black satin cord about a foot long each. Tie one on each side of the base of the handle.

    • 6

String black and orange beads onto the strings and knot them at the end. You can use alphabet beads to spell out your child's name or just use Halloween-colored beads.

    • 7

Get ready to fill that pail up with Halloween candy and other goodies.

Tips & Warnings

  • Add glitter to your Halloween pail if you desire.

  • If you have an old pail that doesn't have a handle, make one with black yarn or ribbon.
