A high quality bath towel can offer you a luxurious experience after stepping out of a warm bath or a hot shower. To ensure your towels stay soft and fluffy, it's essential that you take the proper steps to care for them.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Run your towels through the washing machine before you use them for the first time. Pour a cup of white vinegar into the water to set the dyes of the towel and prevent the color from fading.
Step2
Wash your towels each subsequent time in warm or cold water with about half the amount of detergent you use for other loads of laundry. This will help you care for and preserve the life of your towels.
Step3
Use bleach sparingly, as it can wear away the fabric of your towels.
Step4
Do not pour fabric softener into the washing machine when laundering towels, as the silicone in the fabric softener will hinder your towels' ability to soak up water.
Step5
Launder dark colored towels separately from light colored ones, because the dark colored towels can fade over time.
Step6
Care for your towels by drying them on an outdoor clothesline. If you dry them in a dryer, do so using the cool or delicate cycle, which will prevent shrinkage.
Step7
Refrain from wiping down the sink and vanity area of the bathroom with your towels. Some first aid items, toothpaste and makeup remover can stain your towels.

Tips & Warnings

  • Purchase bath towels made of 100% cotton, because cotton is highly absorbent and will allow you to dry your body rapidly.
