How to Apply Makeup in Ten Minutes

It happens to every woman at some point, we oversleep and have only 10 minutes to apply our makeup. Maybe you just want to throw on some clothes to run your Saturday errands and need to look presentable in about 10 minutes. Applying your makeup this quickly is possible and you can look great by following a few guidelines.

• Basic cosmetics
• Cosmetic applicators

1. Keep your cosmetics in a drawer or cosmetics bag all together where they are handy and accessible. All your essential makeup items should always stay together so all you have to do is open the drawer or open the bag and get started.

2. Apply concealer wherever needed depending on your coloring. Most brunettes will need concealer under their eyes. Dab this on carefully and quickly.

3. Use a sponge to apply foundation powder. Smooth this out evenly. This will take the place of using a foundation and then using a powder. Touch your checks with just a hint of blush in a color that complements your skin tone and makeup shades.

4. Cover your eyelid with a light colored shadow powder. Be sure to cover the entire lid, blending and smoothing with a sponge, swab or your fingers up towards your eyebrow.

5. Line your eyelid, close to your lashes, with a pencil type eyeliner. The liner should start 1/4 of the way from your nose then outward toward your ear.

6. Brush your lashes with mascara, giving each eye equal amounts of mascara.

7. Smooth your favorite lipstick over both top and bottom lips. Wait a few seconds and then apply a lip gloss.

• Keep a duplicate of your favorite lipstick, gloss and makeup compact in your purse for quick touch ups.
• Darker shades of contour shadows and deeper eye liners on both top and bottom lashes can be applied for evening looks.
