How to Make a Ron Weasley Costume
Harry Potter's best friend, Ron Weasley, is a great character to dress up as. The youngest boy in the Weasley family, he has a lot to live up to with his brothers' accomplishments. He is a joking person whom everyone loves. Ron is very loyal to Harry. Even when he is upset with Harry, as in the "Goblet of Fire," Ron does his best to warn him of danger.

1
Dye your hair Weasley red. If this isn't an option, you can purchase a red wig. He is often met by, "you must be another Weasley." The color of his hair and his freckles give him away as being one of the Weasley children. Use makeup to create freckles if you aren't equipped with them naturally.

2
Dress in a Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry uniform. For the young men, this consists of gray pants and sweater, with sensible black shoes. A white collar button up shirt and tie is worn under the sweater.

3
Find a tie and scarf in the house colors. Ron belongs to Gryffindor. Their colors are red and gold. The tie is worn with the school uniform. Hogwarts students usually wear the scarf outside to keep warm.
-
4
Wear a black school robe. Ron wears his older brother Bill's hand-me-down robes. Put a Hogwarts' crest on the robe. The robes are long and black.
-
5
Use a broken wand. Ron broke his wand at the beginning of "Chamber of Secrets." It too was a hand-me-down from his older brother Charlie. Ron's spells had a tendency to backfire before his wand was replaced. He ended up eating worms himself when he tried casting a spell on Malfoy.
-
6
Carry a pet rat or an owl. Ron has a pet rat named Scampers until the end of "Prisoner of Azkaban." He later gets an owl named Pigwidgeon that Sirius Black sends him. A stuffed rat or owl will work well.

Tips & Warnings
When finding clothes to wear in your costume, remember that Ron's clothes are all used. Worn clothes that are a bit dated are best. He once wore old dress robes that smelled like his aunt.
