If you think the fine taste of wine is limited to grapes then you are severely mistaken. Much like vodka, almost any fruit can be fermented to turn into wine. Thus, the glorious invention of citrus wine. Whether it's grapefruit based, blood orange based, or has a combination of the two, here are some great places to buy citrus wine.

  1. Step 1

    Go to an online Florida wine site and check out some of the latest vintage of citrus wine (see Resources below). While they carry all sorts of wine indigenous to Florida, the citrus wine is some of the best. You have your choice of several, which are both grapefruit and orange based. It should be noted that a handful of states do not allow shipping of alcohol from Florida to an individual consumer. The site lists this handful of states clearly.

  2. Step 2

    There are many types of citrus wine. Try tangerine wine as a perfect beverage to go with your summer BBQ.

  3. Step 3

    Request citrus wine at your local wine store. Many towns have wine shops that specialize in the higher end fare. These sorts of places will gladly order something special for you. Just be sure to be a consistent patron.

  4. Step 4

    Some online wine sites buy in an immense amount of bulk, so while you can't get the specialty items, you will be able to get brand name citrus wine. The upshot is you will save big when ordering by the case.

    Make your own citrus wine.
