How to Enter Amateur Softball Association Tournaments

The Amateur Softball Association (A.S.A.) was founded in 1933. This non-profit organization governs official amateur softball in America. They run many different tournaments across the U.S. for men and women of all ages. Here are some tips on how to enter an Amateur Softball Association Tournament.

  1. Step 1

    Visit asasoftball.com and read up on the different tournaments they offer. Once arriving on the site, click on the "Tournaments" section of the site.

  2. Step 2

    Browse the list of tournaments on the page, and decide which tournament is best suited for your team. They range from tournaments for girls, to competitive older teams for men and women of any age. Click on the appropriate tournament to go to their official page.

  3. Step 3

    Input your state to find local qualifying tournaments in your area. Most of the Amateur Softball Associate Tournaments so that you must qualify locally before moving onto the state and national title levels. Input your zip code to find the contact person for your area.

  4. Step 4

    Contact the A.S.A tournament designate in your area. Some of the sites have entry forms for the local tournaments, while others suggest you contact the local representative first. Take the directive from the site and do what they recommend.

  5. Step 5

    Enter to a local qualifying tournament and play ball. Once you've entered, set aside plenty of practice time, as many teams in the A.S.A tournaments take their games very seriously. If you are just looking for a beer league, look elsewhere. These tournaments are for players who are hungry to win.
