Location is everything when it comes to setting up a tailgating party. Pick the right spot and you have an instant party; pick the wrong spot and your tailgating party can be over before it even begins. Here are some tips on how to choose a tailgating location.

From Quick Guide: Tailgating
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Get there early. Check with the stadium to find out what time the gates open, and then be there right when they open. Arriving early gives you the best chance of finding that perfect spot, and gives you plenty of time to set everything up. You want at least 2 hours of tailgating time before the game starts.

  2. Step 2

Park at the end of a row. This gives you more room to spread out and party like you want to.

  3. Step 3

Back into your parking spot. This protects your guests from oncoming traffic. You should park next to another car or a sidewalk for optimum safety.

  4. Step 4

Make yourself seen. Hang some balloons up so that your friends can find your tailgating party in the crowd.

  5. Step 5

Check out the neighborhood. A good tailgating party is one that meshes well with those around it. So head on over to your neighboring parties and say hello. It's a good way to meet people, and may come in handy if you run out of something.

Tips & Warnings
  • Remember that the most important parts of a really good tailgating party are great food and great friends.
