- Tape measure

- Level
- Screwdriver or drill with appropriate size head or bits

Step 1
Read the instructions that come with the ironing board as these vary per model. Also, now is the time to make certain that everything that should be included with the kit is there.

Choose a location for your ironing board. Make certain there will be plenty of workspace when the door is open and the board is folded out. Be sure the spot you choose is close to a wall outlet.

Decide on a comfortable ironing height to mount the board. Remember to take the cabinet height into consideration. The iron typically sits 5 to 9 inches higher than the bottom of the cabinet. Mark on the wall where the bottom of the cabinet should go.

Measure up from your mark where the bottom of the cabinet should go to the full height of the cabinet. Find the nearest top wall stud. This is where your cabinet should mount, so the final height will be adjusted slightly.

Drill a hole in the cabinet mounting support top and bottom as directed by the manufacturer instructions. These may already be pre-drilled. Drill a hole in the wall stud where you will mount the cabinet at the top to align with the holes you drilled in the mount supports. Check with a level and drill a hole where the bottom mount support will go.

Step 6
Insert a mounting screw in the top mounting hole and begin to tighten. Check with a level and don't tighten all the way down, just enough to hold in place. Repeat for the bottom hole, again checking to make sure it is level.

Finish tightening the mounting screws all the way down.
