Lulu is a popular publishing company and outlet for inspiring artists and writers. This website has a great marketplace where writers and artists can come together, publish their work, and sell it online. Services that are available now include hardback books, paperback books, photobooks, CDs, DVDs, calendars and so much more. Lulu makes it possible for almost any author to become self-published or any musician to develop CDs to sell as well. Uploading and publishing your project on Lulu is free, and creators can have a chance to purchase their projects at lower prices so that more quantity can be purchased. It is an easy place to begin the first steps to becoming noticed and published. Read on to learn how to self-publish a song on Lulu.

Step1
Register for a free account at Lulu if you don't already have one. Once you have registered for an account, log into the website with your username and password.
Step2
Click on "My Projects" once you have logged into your account. Then choose, "Start a New Project."
Step3
Scroll towards the bottom of the webpage and find the choice, "Digital Media." Then choose the "CD" selection.
Step4
Type the name of the title in the box that pops up on your computer screen. Then type in the name of the artist and decide if you would like your song to be a private project or if you would like to sell it on Lulu.
Step5
Find out where your song file is located at on your computer. Most of these may be MP3 files or windows media files. Upload your file to the website.
Step6
Wait for lulu to create the disk image for your CD once you have uploaded your file. This may take a few minutes. After is has completed, then click save and continue.
Step7
Read the options that will be available for your CD. Most of Lulu CDs are all offered on CD-R's and will come with a standard jewel case. Once you have finished reading, then click "Save and Continue."
Step8
Choose the cover art that you would like to be put on your CD. You can download a template or upload your own design. After choosing the cover art for the CD image, then Lulu lets you choose the cover art for the jewel case too. Use a template from the lulu gallery, or choose your own. Then click "Save and Continue."
Step9
Decide on a price on your CD once you have finished creating it if you plan on selling your CD on Lulu. Creators can decide if they would like to sell their published work at Lulu or keep it a private project for their own distribution.
Step10
Order a copy of your CD for your own personal preview before you sell your work. Then market your CD as needed if you would like to promote your upcoming songs for purchase. Remember your Lulu account details in the case that you would need to update, change or add a new project.
