Step 1
Ask your curling teammates for referrals to a local sporting goods store or online retailer for the best quality curling apparel. Ask them what gear works best for them and what they would never buy so you make the best buy possible.
-
Step 2
Look for loose, cotton-lined, water-resistant, durable pants when buying clothes for curling. Try on curling pants to check their flexibility. Curlers need to have a wide range of movement. Consider fleece-lined pants if you are susceptible to cold or if you play outdoors. Kilts are available for women.

Step 3
Dress in layers when you curl. Purchase turtlenecks, sweatshirts and a curling jacket for layered warmth. Curling jackets are similar to windbreakers. Consider a down or fleece vest for added warmth. Purchase cold weather clothing that is comfortable, warm and flexible. Remember to think "layers" when shopping for curling clothing.

Step 4
Select a quality curling shoe that is comfortable, flexible and warm. Look for a shoe that has the proper slider application and facilitates slider and gripper upgrades. Ask your teammates for recommendations as to their preferred curling shoe manufacturers.
-
Step 5
Keep your hands warm and maintain a grip on your broom by purchasing gloves made for curling. Look for well-insulated gloves with flexibility that allow for a good broom grip during the game.
