Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Decide first how you use your patio. The more you use it, the more durable choice you'll want to make when picking the tile floor.
Step2
Know your forecast. If you've lived in an area for at least a year, then you are familiar with the seasons and the kind of weather you can expect. If you're new to the region, study up on the weather patterns that your patio floor will be exposed to.
Step3
Look for anti-slip tile so that you can enjoy the patio in every kind of weather situation. You don't want to have to worry about guests (or yourself for that matter) slipping on a damp floor or a spilled drink.
Step4
Choose plastic tiles if you are laying them over a concrete slab. They install easily over pavement that already exists, are inexpensive and come in a variety of colors.
Step5
Go with recycled rubber matting tiles if you want to enjoy a softer floor where you won't have worry about slips. This flooring also is recommended for environmentally conscious homeowners.
Step6
Pick a natural, very durable patio floor made of granite if you are building the patio from scratch and you don't want to spend much time on maintenance. Granite tile is easy to coordinate with other stone walkways or landscaping in your yard and will withstand extreme weather easiest of all the tiles.
